Description:

Positron emission tomography (PET) to examine serotonin receptors during menopause before and after hormone therapy. Healthy women are randomized to 12 weeks of treatment with estrogen alone, combined continuous estrogen and progesterone, or placebo. These data will increase our understanding of how female hormonal fluctuations affect brain systems integral to mood and memory.
