Description:

This is a prospective investigation of ziprasidone pharmacokinetics in women who have decided to continue ziprasidone during pregnancy. Data to determine whether similar drug concentrations are required to keep the symptoms in remission during childbearing as in the nonchildbearing state have not been published. No data on breastfeeding infant serum levels of ziprasidone have been published. This proposal is designed to address these gaps in knowledge and provide data to inform the optimal use of ziprasidone during childbearing. It is also designed to implement the FDA recommendation to obtain drug dosing information in pregnancy.
