WELL BEING STUDY

Investigators at the Western Psychiatric Institute & Clinic, UPMC, Pittsburgh are conducting a 26-week research study to examine the effectiveness of using a low dose FDA approved cholesterol lowering medication to improve your enjoyment of everyday activities, ability to focus, motivation, sociability, mood and general well being.

Participation in this study requires 7 blood draws, an EKG (paper tracing of the electrical activity of the heart) and psychiatric testing.

To be considered for this study, you must be:

bullet

18 to 65 Years old.

bullet

Have a diagnosis of Schizophrenia or Schizoaffective Disorder

bullet

Be currently receiving a stable dose of only one antipsychotic medication

bullet

Not had a psychiatric hospitalization in the past 60 days

    You will receive $300 for your participation in this study
