Biographical Sketch

Shayne Jones is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Law and Psychiatry Research Program at the Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, University of Pittsburgh. He received his Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Kentucky. Shayne is currently working on a statewide-project in Pennsylvania investigating the extent to which juvenile offenders with mental health needs are receiving treatment.

Broadly defined, his research involves how individual difference factors and social context work in conjunction with one another to affect antisocial behavior. He has investigated the role of self-control, personality, psychopathy, peers, as well as school and neighborhood context in affecting substance use, weapons carrying, school violence, offending, and victimization.
