The Mood Disorders Treatment & Research Program (MDTRP) is a psychiatric research & treatment program within the UPMC Health System's Western Psychiatric Institute & Clinic.
The staff of the MDTRP are clinical and research experts in the assessment and treatment of depression and bipolar disorder. With more than 15 years of research experience, the MDTRP is a nationally and internationally recognized center. People who participate in our programs often can receive research treatment at no cost. In addition to standard treatments, we sometimes offer experimental treatments that are not yet generally available. Above all however, the care of our patients is most important to us, everyone who participates in our program receives a very thorough evaluation and close, clinical monitoring, throughout the course of their participation in one of our programs.
