For Professionals: What is the Late-Life Depression Evaluation and Treatment Program? Commissioned by the NIMH in 1995 to establish a center for the study and treatment of mood disorders in late life, our program has assembled a team of experienced geriatric psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and social workers dedicated to the development of effective interventions for late life depression, anxiety, and insomnia. We provide free consultations for individuals over age 60, and provide treatment within one of our clinical research studies for those who qualify (referral otherwise). Our center has evaluated thousands of individuals from Pittsburgh and the surrounding area; we are accepting referrals any time. Call 624-1886 to refer a patient to us for evaluation. Is there a way to provide more information to patients about late-life depression, anxiety or insomnia? This web site contains information (and links to further information) about depression, anxiety, insomnia, and grief. We also have a weekly TV show about different topics related to late life psychiatric disorders, and we have a newsletter. |
