Imaging Study of Children Exposed to a Traumatic Event

Children and adolescents 6 to 18 years of age may be eligible to participate in this study if they have been exposed to a traumatic event and have experienced intense fear or helplessness as a result of the event.

Course of Study

Following a brief screening to determine eligibility to participate, children and adolescents receive a psychiatric evaluation, IQ testing, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the brain. Participation in the study is free of charge. This study does not involve treatment but referrals are made when needed.
