The Assess Distress Study: Development of
the Emotion Dysregulation Inventory for ASD
Dr. Carla
Mazefsky, PhD, University of Pittsburgh
This study is to develop a new measure
of emotional distress and emotional control called the Emotion
Dysregulation Inventory (EDI). The EDI will help identify emotional
problems and track treatment progress in individuals with an autism
spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disorders. This study
will include parents who have a child with ASD between the ages of 6-40.
Parents will complete a
brief reading test and a few questionnaires about your son's or
daughter's emotions and behaviors. Parents will also be
interviewed about their impressions and suggestions for the new
questionnaire. Your child does not need to attend the research
appointment.
