Welcome
Welcome and thank you for visiting our website here at CARE-NET,
(Child
and
Adolescent
REsearch
Network
for
Effective
Treatments).
We hope you find it useful. Our goal is simple. We want to bring
together patients, families, professionals, and community
organizations to improve the quality of care delivered to children
and adolescents with common emotional and behavioral problems in
primary care medical settings. We have a diverse mission involving
service delivery, treatment dissemination, research, and pediatric
training. Despite significant progress in the treatment of
attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), disruptive
behavioral disorders, anxiety, depression, and other emotional and
behavioral problems, many affected
children and adolescents
do not receive the high quality care they deserve. CARE-NET exists
to help bridge the “gaps” between what is known to work and what is
now available in routine clinical practice.
We are grateful for your interest and for this unique opportunity
to catalyze change in the way that pediatric mental health services
are accessed and delivered in primary care. CARE-NET was developed
as part of
Dr. David Brent’s
Advanced Center for Interventions and Services Research for Early
Onset Mood and Anxiety Disorders here at the
University of Pittsburgh Medical Center with funding from the
National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). Please do not
hesitate to contact us.
Thank you again for taking time to visit.
Sincerely,
Dr. David Kolko, CARE-NET
Director and Dr. Evelyn Reis, CARE-NET
Co-Director
