Harold Alan Pincus, M.D.
Director
Harold Alan Pincus, M.D. is the Director of Depression in Primary Care. He is the Executive Vice Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Senior Scientist at RAND, and Director of the RAND-University of Pittsburgh Health Institute. A former Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholar, Dr. Pincus has also served as a consultant for the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, the United States Secret Service, and other public and private organizations. Previously, he was the Deputy Medical Director of the American Psychiatric Association (APA), founding director of APA’s Office of Research, and Executive Director of the American Psychiatric Institute for Research and Education. Prior to joining the APA, Dr. Pincus was the Special Assistant to the Director of the National Institute of Mental Health.
Jeanie Knox Houtsinger, B.A.
Deputy Director
Jeanie Knox Houtsinger, B.A. brings over 10 years of research management experience to the program. Prior to joining the NPO, she served as the Administrator for federally-funded child and adolescent developmental psychopathology research center focusing on early-onset affective and anxiety disorders, based at the University of Pittsburgh. Her background also includes coordinating a post-doctoral research fellowship program for child psychiatrists for over six years and positions at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute’s Behavioral Health division and Biostatistics Center.
Gail Wrobleski
Administrative Specialist
Gail Wrobleski is the program’s Administrative Specialist for Depression in Primary Care. Her background includes providing comprehensive administrative support to executives and major clients of a nationally recognized corporate communications firm for over a decade.
Brandi Daugherty
Research Assistant
Brandi Daugherty earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh in 2004 and has provided research support to the NPO for the past three years. She is responsible for data management, assisting with coordination of program-related events, and researching web-based resources relevant to the program.
