His first position after residency was as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California, Los Angeles. He was also a staff psychiatrist at Edmund D. Edelman Westside Mental Health Center in Los Angeles, California Currently, he is an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of California, Davis (UCD), and a staff psychiatrist at the Adult Psychiatric Support Services Clinic (APSS). His last two positions were as a staff psychiatrist at the Behavioral Health Clinic of the UCD Medical Center, and Medical Director, Northgate Point Regional Support Team, a community mental nealth center, in Sacramento, California. He is committed to providing quality mental health services to seriously persistently mentally ill adults in the community with an emphasis on culturally appropriate diagnosis and treatment. He also has an interest in outcome measurement and computers and Psychiatry. He is actively involved in the teaching program at the UCD School of Medicine, and in the residency program, supervising third and fourth year medical students and second year residents at APSS. He has been a member of the AACP since 1995, and was elected a board member in 1998. He received the Chancellor's Award for Achievement in Diversity and Community in 2003 from UCD. Main Issues for
AACP: Promoting better mental health
services for minorities by recruiting and training minority medical students
and residents into community psychiatry and encouraging them join the AACP
and becoming active members.
