Passing the Torch

After nearly ten years as Editor of Community Psychiatrist, I will be stepping down (over?) with this edition of Community Psychiatrist. Although I do this with some ambivalence, I am reassured in my decision by the knowledge that this endeavor will be passed to fresh and capable hands in the form of two of our newest Board members. Elizabeth Oudens and Warachal Faison, who have bravely stepped forward to accept responsibility for this task. I hope that it will become a labor of love for them as it has been for me during my tenure. As with all things, and element of change is an essential ingredient for progress and improvement, and I am sure that these new Editors will bring with them some fresh ideas and energy that will allow Community Psychiatrist to evolve along with our organization. I hope that I have made a contribution to our organization through the pages that have gone to press and public over the past several years and I know that it has been an experience that has enhanced my professional life. I will hope to make future contributions to our organization in a different capacity in the years to come, but I must bid a fond farewell to this particular activity. I would like to leave with a note of thanks to our membership for your support and interest over these years.
