Dear Potential Case Management Conference Presenter!

Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, along with the Pennsylvania Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, is pleased to announce the “18th Annual Pennsylvania Case Management Conference”. The conference will be held June 18, 2010 at Robert Morris University, Moon Township, PA. The theme of this coming year’s conference is "Beyond Diversity: Fostering Inclusion in Case Management Practice".

We are sending this “call for papers” to potential presenters who can contribute their expertise and make this a valuable educational and networking opportunity for the 200 professionals, consumers and family members who will attend. We therefore invite all of you to submit conference workshop proposals that promote inclusion in case management practices and strive towards creating effective methods to enhance communication and create environments where everyone feels, included, valued and respected.

Within this framework, we are looking for workshops that address building common ground in providing mental health services, psychiatrist and consumer partnerships, single point of accountability, medical co morbidity, housing, social inclusion, cultural competencies, and spirituality. All workshop proposals must address the topic of inclusion in their descriptions.

We will be happy to waive the conference tuition fee for the primary presenter in your workshop only. Tuition for co-presenters, as well as, all presenters’ travel, accommodations and non-conference meals will not be covered. The primary presenter of each accepted proposal will be notified by letter prior to the production of a conference brochure to confirm the date and time of the accepted workshop. All presenters need to register for the conference.

If you are interested in presenting a workshop, please download the workshop proposal form and email or fax (email: slappojm@upmc.edu or FAX: 412-802-6910) it to our office no later than November 13, 2009. You are welcome to share this information with colleagues who might be interested as well.  If you require further information, please contact the conference coordinator Maria Peña-Jordan at penajordanmi@upmc.edu or at 412-802-6917.

With your help, we look forward to another successful and enjoyable conference.
