Program Description:

Reactive Attachment disorder has been the subject of increasing treatment and
research interest over the past 15 years. This program will focus on practical
application of attachment theory, diagnostic advances and tools, treatment
best practices and key parenting strategies. Practical techniques will be
described to help viewing participants acquire new skills. evidenced-based
treatment strategies will be emphasized with focus on participants learning
to maximize effectiveness through collaboration of parents, therapists, and
community resources in the context of addressing trauma, building parent-child
trust, and remediating neurological and learning problems.
 

Educational Objectives:

Upon completion of this program, participants should be able to:

1. Explain the basics of attachment theory as applied to mental health
   problems of children diagnosed with reactive attachment disorder
    

2. Interpret and use best diagnostic practices and tools
    

3. Develop a treatment plan using evidenced-based treatment
   approaches for reactive attachment disorder
    

4. Describe several specific therapeutic parenting strategies, which can be
   implemented as current practice of parenting
    

Target Audience:

Family members, and psychologists, counselors, social workers, educators,
nurses, and other mental health professionals who work with individuals
with reactive attachment disorder.
