This program will provide an overview of
psychiatric disorders affecting the elderly. Treatment strategies including
medication management and behavioral approaches will be presented. |

Objectives: |

At the conclusion of this program participants
should be able to: 1.
Describe symptoms and treatment strategies for patients with delirium,
depression and dementia. 2.
Discuss psychopharmacology as it impacts the treatment of the
elderly with these and other psychiatric disease processes. 3.
Identify
behavioral approaches and communication techniques. |
