Program Description:

Simulations of group activities that promote recovery and well being will be used to instruct participants in experiential approaches to recovery. Spiritually based activities and perspectives will be woven into these various activities. This will be a "hands on" workshop with all attendees working through the actual group processes and activities.

Educational Objectives:

At the conclusion of this program participants should be able to:

 

  1. Identify basic goals and dynamics for conducting effective recovery groups.
  2. Practice exercises and experiences that participants will be able to replicate in their own setting in order to address addictive behaviors and recovery.
  3. Demonstrate group activities that promote the integration of spirituality into recovery and well being and utilize these in their own context.
  4. Practice activities that include motivational learning and techniques for applying this approach in their own practice.

 

Target Audience:

All clinical and research professionals, personal care home administrators, students, and trainees, as well as interested family members and individuals in recovery.
