Objectives:  Participants will be able to: 

  • Describe the clinical care needs of incarcerated people with mental illness

  • Identify the main objectives of correctional psychiatry

  • Describe the roles that psychiatrists play in correctional psychiatry

  • Recognize the barriers to more effective collaboration between mental health and correctional  professionals

  • Understand the skills and experiences that contribute to career satisfaction in correctional psychiatry
