AACP CELEBRATES 15 YEARS!!!
"Da Blues in Da Big Easy"

AACP members! You said you wanted an organization.
You got it. 15 years of progress. Yes we had the blues. Yes we sang the Blues but after 15 years we don't have to sing any more. The AACP has built a reputation and a voice in American Psychiatry to represent public psychiatrists who are serving all those mentally ill folks who really have the blues and other stuff. So to celebrate us not having to sing the blues we got some real blues singers to sing it for us.

Dave Van Ronk and Odetta have been singin Blues longer than we have. Both go back to the fiftys and have connections to some of the great historic figures in American blues, folk, and country music. Dave learned his stuff from the likes of the Reverend Gary Davis and Mississippi John Hurt, two of the greatest blues men of all time. He honed his gritty style as a seaman and later in the subways of New York. He continues to perform world wide and record 2-3 new CD's a year. Odetta is also a living legend with a black African style all her own she is utterly spell binding. Join us for a little shmoozing and o lot of listening on Saturday, October 30, 1999, 8 PM in the Esplanade Rooms A-C, Second Floor, Hyatt Regency New Orleans for the AACP 15th year celebration/reception/concert New Orleans style.
